In my opinion, the Wilde Schmied is a must visit when you are “up in the mountain”. I've known the place since I was a child. My most distant CONSCIOUS memory is from around 2005. At that time it was still run by the old tenant and was a dark, musty dump that was only appreciated by regular guests, but was not very inviting to casual customers like me. SINCE THIS, THE LOCAL HAS UNDERSTOOD A 100% POSITIVE CONVERSION AFTER CHANGING LANDSCAPERS AND RENOVATION! The Wilde Schmied today is a great and, above all, super authentic forest restaurant that I haven't found anywhere else. The boss behind the counter is an innkeeper through and through and does a really good job. The menu with rustic and deliciously prepared dishes is rich but not too crowded. There are also actions with game meat or the like. Especially when you come from a long walk in the forest, it is a relief to sit down here near the stove and warm up and you really have to keep an eye on the clock if you don't want to sink. Because once it is dark, you can no longer walk here. Then there is only the taxi and whoever wants to go to Minden or the north has a deep pocket because he drives via Oeynhausen-Dehme (I speak from experience) The New Year's Eve event is also popular and in high demand (... which I have not yet attended. Corona thwarted my “debut” in 2020) early registration is essential if you do not want to end up on the list of successors . The open event on Father's Day is also a real hit and, in my experience, well attended. The highlights here are spit roast from an open fire and country music with square dancing. Country + square dancing is not really my thing now, but it definitely creates a good atmosphere. Only the outside area could get a little more love / care, which is why I would normally subtract a star here. I am aware, however, that the forest environment, which is actually always damp and hazy, makes it difficult to fight against leaves and verdigris, which is why deducting points would be unfair and distort the overall picture.

A nice hiking trail with a great view. In summer it is definitely great in the beer garden. However, the "Wilde Schmied" needs a new coat of paint.

After hiking through the autumn forest, we arrived at the Wild Schmied at lunchtime. It wasn't the first time we were up here, and certainly not the last time. So far everything has always tasted good and we have not been disappointed. From the ambience to the nice staff, everything fits here. The prices are reasonable and you feel very comfortable as a guest.

25 minutes through the forest but then a wonderful view and a pleasant atmosphere in a rustic inn.

What more do you want? The food was great, the waitresses very friendly, the inn was clean and inviting. Once again we had a very nice evening and are already looking forward to our next visit

Everything has become more expensive. 1 currywurst with french fries and 0.5 liter Altbier 13.50 euros. Quality as usual - tasty and good. Corona has changed the place. The charging station for e-pedelecs is officially out of order, as it is now located on the area closed to bicycles. The official parking space no longer offers a charging facility. Please register with the host beforehand if you want to charge your Accu.

Great place here. Nice staff, if you are lucky ... or if you make a reservation, you have a great view over the Weser. Absolutely recommendable.

Went there for lunch. I do not recommend ordering fried potatoes as they unfortunately don't taste good. The rest of the food was ok. Price would be okay with quality. On the other hand, the view is a dream. I found it very sobering that you can't pay by card. Unfortunately, this was not visible anywhere on the homepage. Fortunately there was cash with us, otherwise we would have had to stay to wash up ...

Friendly, price-performance ratio, nice beer garden. For dinner I had a beef steak with fries and a salad. The meat was very good, the herb butter lacked taste, the salad was a mediocre side salad and the fries were french fries. But as I said, ok for the price.

Very nice view, super delicious food. Big portions ... even real men can get full. Very nice staff. A great insider tip also for larger celebrations.

We celebrated our wedding here and were absolutely thrilled by the great view. The food was delicious and the portions were great and all of our guests were absolutely satisfied. The staff was very friendly and competent. Each section was discussed and coordinated with us again. Absolutely great place and very recommendable. We'll definitely come by again. Nice forest restaurant. The staff is very nice and courteous. Ideal after a hike for strengthening. Even the four-legged friends are thought of, fresh water is available! Price / performance is given.

Amazing place,relaxing and quite with a panoramic view over Bad Oyenhausen but be careful regarding the road to reach it cause of we wrong the direction and we were lost in the middle of the forest. Anyway the meat was incredibly tasty added with a well dunkel beer. The staff was absolutely polite and helpful. If you want to be delighted with spare ribs, remember to reserve the day before!! Suggested
